About us

The band was formed around 1960 as a nine-piece unit, and was augmented to
16 pieces when offered a residency at The Bull (as it was then) in Hornchurch.

Over the years the band has been on radio, television (most famously being beaten into second place on "Opportunity Knocks" by Lena Zavaroni!) and the concert platform. Most of the members have been in the "business" for a long time, and their experience has been a great help to the younger members.

The band is a true jazz orchestra playing the music of Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie.

Thank you for visiting. We look forward to having the opportunity to play for you soon.
